Supporting Student Success

Family engagement is one of the most important factors in helping students succeed in school. Parents, families, and other caring adults provide the first learning experiences for children and can support classroom learning throughout their children's school years.

Attendance

Attendance Clipart

Parents should call the school office at 262-642-6760 x 5241 before 8:00 am if your child will be absent. If leaving a message, please include your name, your child’s name, and the reason for the absence. If your child will be arriving late, please also let us know approximately what time your child will be arriving and if s/he will be having hot lunch.

Daily attendance is an important aspect of academic achievement. Additionally, arriving on-time to school and ready to learn is also a critical variable toward academic success. When students arrive late to school, students/parents are expected to sign in at the front office. In grades 3-12, students will record their tardy through our Skyward kiosk.  This kiosk will document the student's tardiness and be recorded as UNEXCUSED.  It is the parents responsibility to provide additional information on the day of the tardy that would allow our attendance officers to change the unexcused tardy to excused.  For example, a medical appointment or family emergency may be changed to an excused tardy or absence. Excessive unexcused tardies will result in written notification by the school district and may result in a truancy citation.

Pre-arranged absence forms are available if you know your child will be absent in advance.  The necessary permission and signature(s) are to be obtained and turned into the office at least 72 hours prior to proposed absence.  If you have pre-arranged your child's absence, it is not necessary to call the office.

Attendance and truancy policies are available in the Student Informational Book.

This is a national program that runs from April - June (periods of Prom and Graduation) and is a public relations campaign to promote that it is illegal for parents to provide alcohol to their underage children during these special times of the year.

Yard signs, stickers and posters are available for community members. Please contact the district social worker at (262) 642-6760 x5242.

Senior Privilege Pass

Senior Privilege Pass is a privilege based system which acknowledges seniors who are in good standing in regards to grades, behavior, and attendance.  If a student does not have any D’s or F’s, behavioral referrals, or unexcused absences, they are permitted to leave the building for their lunch and one study hall period.  Senior Privilege Passes can be earned and lost at every grade check, and can be lost immediately for truancy and behavioral referrals.

Work Permits

Parents may obtain a work permit for their child through the Department of Workforce Development website.

The school is no longer able to process work permits for minors.
