A Message From Mr. Weerts

At the start of the 2025-26 school year the Prairie View staff unanimously voted on a school-wide theme, which to this day, continues to resonate through our building. The theme is BETTER TOGETHER. We talk about what this theme means in our classrooms and throughout our school environment. I can’t help but think how this theme now applies to our individual homes and the larger East Troy community.

Undoubtedly, you are aware of an open school board position and a referendum question on the April 7th ballot. After reviewing community survey results, exhaustive studies of state and local revenue, the East Troy Community School Board of Education unanimously approved seeking $4 million in additional revenue, above state-imposed limits for three years. As you consider your voting options, this Principal would ask that you do your homework. Please take the time to read the frequently asked questions on our school district website. Send in your questions. Get the facts. Attend a school board meeting to better understand school finance. Find out more about how East Troy schools are a great investment and are fiscally sound with a balanced budget every year.

THE RESULTS OF THE APRIL 7th REFERENDUM WILL DIRECTLY IMPACT PROGRAMMING AND SERVICES FOR OUR EAST TROY STUDENTS.

Having worked in East Troy over the course of 31 years, I can definitively state we are at a crossroad. The outcome of this decision will define our schools, village, and community for years to come.

Our District is proud to declare:
We are a Culture of Learning
We offer a Great Place to Learn and a Great Place to Work
We are a small community delivering BIG education

Finally, we have so many things to be proud of in this school community. Parent surveys indicate a high level of satisfaction with their child’s experience, all schools meet or exceed expectations on the state report card, and high school students graduating prepared for their next experience with marketable, employable skills.

Your vote MATTERS!!
