Announcement and Reminders

PBIS REWARD DAY - JANUARY 30th

  • No additional permission slip is needed for the PBIS Reward Trip; A general permission slip for student travel was signed during school registration.
  • The PBIS team will notify families next week whether or not their student qualified for the trip.
  • The eligibility deadline for the trip is January 28.
  • Students with any Needs Support (NS) grades should connect with their teacher as soon as possible, as last-minute reassessments are difficult.
  • Students who do not attend the trip will remain at school on January 30 for a structured, productive afternoon.
  • On-campus activities will focus on academic support and/or community-building to help students get back on track.

General Announcements

  • 6th Grade students will be working on Greatest of All Time (GOAT) projects/presentations on January 22 at Little Prairie and Prairie View during the school day and in the evening at ETMS.
  • REMINDER: Please do not drop off or pickup students on Graydon Avenue. Not only is this unsafe for our students, it slows down the traffic flow. Our new parking lot allows the drop off of students in a timely manner and should be utilized. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
  • We have had several students arrive at school as early as 6:30am. Please remember that we cannot provide supervision for those students. Our doors open at 7:25am, which is when supervision is available.
  • Students that stay after for the fitness center should not leave the building after school and need to be picked up promptly at 4:30 pm.
  • If the weather is below 32 degrees, students must wear a coat to go outside during lunch. Boots are required if they want to leave the blacktop.

Classroom Happenings

Thanks to two retired ETCSD educators, Jane Wolfe and Jane Iloncaie, Middle School students had a knit-tastic time learning to knit! Students were given supplies and lessons on the beginning stages of knitting. Fiber arts are a great way for anyone to boost self-esteem, lower anxiety, and foster creativity. Who knows what these aspiring students have in mind to create?

Math Meet

Some of our students were able to travel to UW-Whitewater to compete against other schools in the Advanced Learner Network Math Meet. They had a great time and competed well against other districts!

Miscellaneous Information

A message from our Library

New to ETMS, students will have an opportunity to learn knitting in the library! Retired ETCSD educators, Jane Iloncaie and Jane Wolfe will provide step by step instruction on the basics of knitting. From casting on to stitching and then finishing, students will first learn to knit a simple coaster. From there, the possibilities are endless!
Classes are available during WIN on Thursdays and Fridays and students can sign up in ElasticClass starting next week. Space is very limited. To be eligible, students must not have any missing assignments or have priorities with other teachers. No experience in knitting is necessary. In addition to personalized help getting started, students will be given a pair of knitting needles, yarn, and a print-out of basic instructions. Do you have extra yarn or needles (size 7 or 8) that you're willing to donate? Simply ask your student to drop them off at the ETMS library.

Scheduling Meetings with Staff

We kindly ask that parents and guardians schedule a meeting in advance when wishing to speak with a staff member. Our staff have full schedules throughout the day, and unannounced visits can be difficult to accommodate.

We absolutely understand that emergencies can arise, and in those cases, we will do our best to assist right away. However, for all other matters, please reach out by phone or email to set up a meeting time. This helps ensure that staff can give you their full attention and that your concerns are addressed effectively.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us maintain a productive and respectful environment for both staff and students.
