Announcement and Reminders

General Announcements

  • 6th Grade students will be working on Greatest of All Time (GOAT) projects/presentations on January 22 at Little Prairie and Prairie View during the school day and in the evening at ETMS. 6th grade parents, be on the look out for more information after Winter Break.
  • REMINDER: Please do not drop off or pickup students on Graydon Avenue. Not only is this unsafe for our students, it slows down the traffic flow. Our new parking lot allows the drop off of students in a timely manner and should be utilized. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
  • We have had several students arrive at school as early as 6:30am. Please remember that we cannot provide supervision for those students. Our doors open at 7:25am, which is when supervision is available.
  • Students that stay after for the fitness center should not leave the building after school and need to be picked up promptly at 4:30 pm.
  • If the weather is below 32 degrees, students must wear a coat to go outside during lunch. Boots are required if they want to leave the blacktop.

Parenting Workshop

We are excited to announce that we have Rob Ocker partnering with our middle and high school families in February to offer another "Raising Mentally Strong Kids" parenting workshop that is tailored specifically for teens.

I have attached the informational flier that has the sign-up link and details. I have also attached some testimonials from some of last year's elementary workshop participants.

Space is limited and participants will receive a free book! Childcare will also be available for those who need it.

Please reach out to Cassie Rice (riccas@easttroy.k12.wi.us or x4258) if you have any questions!

New Unit: Brain Science
Seventh graders are beginning an exciting new unit on Brain Science! In this unit, students will explore a series of informational texts that reveal the intricate workings of the brain, challenge their understanding of what it means to be human, and examine how their own developing brains are shaped by daily experiences.
Students will read about Phineas Gage, an unforgettable brain-injury survivor, and study the adolescent brain, focusing on behavior, development, and how the brain changes over time. To kick off the unit, each student created their own Brain Hat, bringing creativity and excitement to our learning as we begin this fascinating exploration.

Miscellaneous Information

A message from our Library

New to ETMS, students will have an opportunity to learn knitting in the library! Retired ETCSD educators, Jane Iloncaie and Jane Wolfe will provide step by step instruction on the basics of knitting. From casting on to stitching and then finishing, students will first learn to knit a simple coaster. From there, the possibilities are endless!
Classes are available during WIN on Thursdays and Fridays and students can sign up in ElasticClass starting next week. Space is very limited. To be eligible, students must not have any missing assignments or have priorities with other teachers. No experience in knitting is necessary. In addition to personalized help getting started, students will be given a pair of knitting needles, yarn, and a print-out of basic instructions. Do you have extra yarn or needles (size 7 or 8) that you're willing to donate? Simply ask your student to drop them off at the ETMS library.
Feel free to contact Mrs. Gross with questions (262) 642-6740 x4500 grotra@easttroy.k12.wi.us

Scheduling Meetings with Staff

We kindly ask that parents and guardians schedule a meeting in advance when wishing to speak with a staff member. Our staff have full schedules throughout the day, and unannounced visits can be difficult to accommodate.

We absolutely understand that emergencies can arise, and in those cases, we will do our best to assist right away. However, for all other matters, please reach out by phone or email to set up a meeting time. This helps ensure that staff can give you their full attention and that your concerns are addressed effectively.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us maintain a productive and respectful environment for both staff and students.
