2024 Capital Referendum
Voters approved a $19.4M referendum on Nov. 5, 2024, allowing East Troy schools to move forward with key facility, safety, and maintenance upgrades. These projects are possible because of the continued support of our East Troy Community.
Together, we are building safer, more efficient, and more welcoming schools for our students and staff.

Phase I: Projects Completed
We are pleased to announce that all Phase I projects from the Capital Referendum were substantially completed as of August 2025. These projects focused on enhancing safety, critical maintenance needs to improve energy efficiency, and creating better learning environments across the district.
Prairie View Elementary School
Secure Entry
- Added a fully enclosed, safety-rated entryway.
- New visitor service window and secondary access point for controlled entry.
- Updated entryway aesthetics, including a logo mat, solid surface visitor counter, and refreshed finishes.
Windows
- Replaced original, aging windows with new energy-efficient, safety-enhanced designs.
- Features include thermally insulated glass and improved visibility, helping reduce heating and cooling loss.
Roof Replacement
- Removed outdated built-up roofing.
- Repaired insulation and installed a durable 60-mil EPDM membrane, improving building thermal efficiency.
Gym Wall Repair
- Resolved long-standing water infiltration issues.
- Installed a modular metal wall system with a vapor barrier to prevent future moisture problems.
Chiller Replacement
- Installed a new, energy-efficient chiller using updated refrigerant.
- Provides improved climate control and cost savings.
East Troy Middle School
Roof Replacement
- Installed a high-efficiency EPDM membrane roof with long-term warranty coverage.
- Designed to last up to 30 years.
Site Work & Traffic Flow Improvements
- Redesigned traffic patterns to improve safety.
- Separated bus and parent traffic routes.
- Added extended sidewalks and safer pedestrian access.
- Developed in consultation with staff, families, and other stakeholders.

Phase II: Looking Ahead
Phase II projects are scheduled for completion during the summer of 2026.
East Troy Middle School
- Secure Entry Main Office improvements: Relocation of the entry point to strengthen security and provide a more conducive workspace for the main office area.
- Science Lab Improvements: Upgrade laboratory spaces to support modern science education and learning environment.
- Choir Relocation: Relocating the choir room to accommodate the new main office secure entry. Choir relocation will improve the versatility and acoustic quality of instructional space.
- Repurposing Current Main Office Area: The relocation of the main offices allows for repurposing of the current main office area.
East Troy High School
- HVAC Replacement & Repairs: Replace aging mechanical systems to improve building efficiency and comfort.
- Roof Replacements & Repairs: Installation of new roofing systems to protect the building and enhance energy efficiency and provide long-term maintenance improvements.

East Troy voters approved the $3M/year operational referendum, supporting staff, programs, and stability through 2026—thank you for your support!
