Supporting Student Success

Family engagement is one of the most important factors in helping students succeed in school. Parents, families, and other caring adults provide the first learning experiences for children and can support classroom learning throughout their children's school years.

Attendance

Parents should call the school office at 262-642-6730 x 2221 before 8:00 am if your child will be absent. If leaving a message, please include your name, your child’s name, and the reason for the absence. If your child will be arriving late, please also let us know approximately what time your child will be arriving and if s/he will be having hot lunch.

Little Prairie Primary School uses the school notification system SchoolMessenger for attendance calls. The families of students whose absences have not been verified by 8:00 am with a parent/guardian, will receive an automated phone call placed to primary phone and parent/guardian cell phone numbers listed in Skyward-Skylert.

Pre-arranged absence forms are available if you know your child will be absent in advance.  The necessary permission and signature(s) are to be obtained and turned into the office at least 72 hours prior to proposed absence.  If you have pre-arranged your child's absence, it is not necessary to call the office.

Attendance and truancy policies are available in the Student Informational Book.

Progress Reports

Report Card Clipart

Progress reports are posted in Family Access following each trimester.  Our standards-based progress report gives you information about how your child is progressing toward meeting the district's standards during the course of the school year in each class.

Our standards-based progress report gives you information about how your child is progressing toward meeting the district's standards during the course of the school year in each class. Standards specify what all students should know and be able to do. Your child’s performance is measured against the standard, rather than simply being compared to other students in his or her class. It gives every child the opportunity to meet or exceed our district’s standards. It gives you a more detailed and honest assessment of how your child is progressing academically. Behavior is reported out separately and is as important as the academic report, as they are the habits that students will need to be successful in high school and beyond. Each indicator shows progress towards the specific learning targets for each course.

The descriptions uses are as follows:
P- Proficient
D- Developing

4K Arrival/Dismissal

Due to Prairie View recess schedules, the bus pick-up of AM 4K students, and well as bus drop-off of PM 4K students will happen in the north parking lot. In order for that to work, we cannot have cars parked along the curb at that time.

We ask that if you are picking up an AM 4K student, please park in a stall and come to the door to pick up your child. If you are dropping off a PM 4K student, you may drop off at the curb quickly, but will need to immediately move your vehicle. Thank you for your cooperation.
