Dear East Troy Families and Community Members,

We’re excited to share a meaningful facility upgrade that will benefit students, families, and fans for years to come — the installation of brand-new bleachers in the ETHS Bret Miller Gym!

The original bleachers were in service from 1958–2025 (67 years) and saw generations of Trojan pride. However, they no longer met current ADA standards and posed accessibility and safety challenges:

• They lacked stair aisles, making them difficult to navigate.

• They did not have handrails for patrons who rely on additional support.

• They did not provide designated wheelchair or handicap-accessible spaces.

While repairs were explored, the costs were prohibitive and still would not have brought the bleachers up to ADA compliance.

Thanks to good fiscal management and a positive budget variance, we were able to fund this important project. Although it was originally on our Capital Improvement Plan, it did not make the final referendum scope — making this upgrade an even more meaningful accomplishment.

The new bleachers address all of these needs, providing improved accessibility, added safety features, and a more comfortable experience for everyone attending events in the Bret Miller Gym.

We’re proud to make this investment in our facilities and community, and we look forward to cheering on our Trojans from the stands for many years to come.
