In the East Troy Community School District, our mission is to provide a personalized learning environment that places the individual learner at the center of the learning process. It is our focus to provide individual learning opportunities and flexible assessments which promote the 6-C’s (Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, Content, and Curiosity) and empower our students to take ownership of their learning. Each and every year, we work to ensure that our mission is a living part of our schools and our classrooms through engaged student learning, quality teaching, strong leadership, rigorous coursework, and community partnerships.
As our roadmap for instruction, the East Troy Community School District aligns curriculum, learning, and assessment to the Wisconsin Academic Standards. These standards provide a rigorous framework that encourages the acquisition and application of knowledge, promotes college and career readiness, and extends learning beyond the classroom. We use these standards as the foundation for teaching and learning which allows educators to identify and communicate essential understandings and learning targets. These explicit goals for daily instruction highlight essential skills, concepts, and knowledge to provide a clear focus for the development of lessons and assessments. The East Troy Community School District is committed to the creation of student-empowered environments designed to actively engage students, promote problem-solving skills, connect concepts to real-world experiences, and foster creativity.
As we continue to grow and evolve, we recognize that our work has only just begun. We are dedicated to the continual improvement of personalized learning practices through high-quality learning environments and flexible assessments for all students based on these standards.
